Common Questions About Eyelash Extensions

Can I use a Lash Serum while I have Eyelash Extensions?

Yes!!

Do Eyelash Extensions Damage your natural lashes?

No, however poor application and bad homecare does!! Your natural lashes are delicate and need to be treated as such so homecare of how you look after your eyelash extensions is top priority!

Home Care Advice
WASH RINSE BRUSH LEAVE

Avoid wetting lash extensions ideally 24 hours after the treatment. This allows time for the glue to dry. the better the bond, the longer they will last!!

Avoid steam rooms and hot shower/ saunas for at least 48 hours (or completely, if possible, due to cyanoacrylate’s (the glue, which needs to bond!) low thermal resistance).

Avoid oily products around the eyelashes. Do not wearing mascara, foundation and eyeliner on eyelids. If the lashes come into contact with these products, the bond of the adhesive can weaken and cause premature shedding of the extensions.

Wash eyelash extensions every day when wearing make up or at least every other day each week with a lash shampoos or eyelid cleanser and light rinse in the shower

Do not use cotton wipes/make up wipes the eyelashes area, because it will catch the extension and pull them out, and these products tend to leave oil on the remaining lash! ideally to use a soft brush to remove makeup around eye area and rinse lightly.

Avoid Pulling, twisting or plucking the Extensions, a spoolie wand will be given on appointment to use at home and please brush your lashes through daily!

Classics, Hybrids and Volumes

Classic eyelash extensions are a great place to start if this is all new to you, classic simply means a 1:1 ratio of extension to natural lash. Perfect for a natural look, easy maintenance or a more mature clientele.

Hybrids, are simply that, a hybrid mix of classics (singles) and volumes (fans) to soften the overall finish of classics. Perfect if your looking for something noticeable without being super intense.

VOLUMES are a whole other ball game, with different lingos depending where you go, 2Ds 3Ds 8Ds 10Ds, Russian, it all relates to the ratio of Extension to Natural Lash.  If your looking for some drama in your lashes the higher D the fuller the extensions will be. For a light weight full  Volume look sit at around a 3D or 4D.  ALL  of these options will be available to be discussed at time of appointment to give you your ideal look! Its important to remember what you see on someone else will look completely different on yourself.

Maybe just a lash lift?

This is a fantastic option to bring out your natural lash! Amazing if your not ready to commit to Extensions and fantastic if you love to rub your eyes or sleep on your face! Both of which do not do well with extensions. Using a lash serum and creating some super growth of your natural lashes and then getting a lash lift/perm/lamination will give you a new found respect for your natural lash!
